The Impact of Sensory integration on Behaviour

Difficult behaviours often arise from overstimulation or under stimulation in the classroom. We are living in a time where all of us are bombarded with more visual images than ever before. Detrimental behaviours have been linked with too little or too much sensory stimulation. As educators we are well position to make positive, impactful changes to our programs; allow children to make sense of visual information while behaving in a positive way.

We address four ways to deal with over or under stimulation, how indoor and outdoor environments contribute in different ways, how to connect with the natural world and how to evaluate our environments, making purposeful changes.
